Adoption of HMI manufacturing capabilities

Now Phoenix Con­tact has decid­ed to sell its sub­sidiary Phoenix Con­tact HMI IPC Tech­nol­o­gy, based in Filder­stadt, to Renu Elec­tron­ics Pvt.Ltd. a glob­al man­u­fac­tur­er of indus­tri­al elec­tron­ics and fac­to­ry automa­tion products.

Phoenix Con­tact HMI IPC Tech­nol­o­gy in Filder­stadt, for­mer­ly Sütron Elec­tron­ic GmbH, has been part of the Phoenix Con­tact Group since 2008. The core busi­ness is the devel­op­ment and pro­duc­tion of HMIs (Human Machine Inter­faces), which form part of Phoenix Con­tac­t’s automa­tion portfolio.

Phoenix Con­tact and Renu Elec­tron­ics have been work­ing togeth­er for more than ten years in the field of indus­tri­al automa­tion tech­nol­o­gy. Part of the port­fo­lio of HMI devices has already been devel­oped and pro­duced by the Indi­an com­pa­ny for sev­er­al years. The acqui­si­tion will lead to a fur­ther inten­si­fi­ca­tion of the exist­ing coop­er­a­tion. Both com­pa­nies will use the syn­er­gies for strate­gic fur­ther devel­op­ment in their respec­tive automa­tion tech­nol­o­gy busi­ness fields.

Ajay Bhag­wat, CEO of Renu Elec­tron­ics Pvt. Ltd, states, “We are very pleased to strength­en our base in Europe with this acqui­si­tion.  It pro­vides us with excel­lent man­u­fac­tur­ing and devel­op­ment capa­bil­i­ties in Ger­many that will enable us to bet­ter sup­port our cus­tomers.  We look for­ward to expand­ing our busi­ness rela­tion­ships with the com­pa­ny and sev­er­al oth­er Euro­pean cus­tomers from Ger­many, sup­port­ed by our busi­ness activ­i­ties in India.”

The cur­rent pro­duc­tion of oper­at­ing & mon­i­tor­ing devices from Filder­stadt and the devel­op­ments cur­rent­ly under­way there will con­tin­ue unchanged by Renu Elec­tron­ics. The prod­ucts will con­tin­ue to be avail­able to all cus­tomers in an unchanged man­ner. The trans­ac­tion is expect­ed to be com­plet­ed by the end of the year. Both par­ties have agreed not to dis­close the finan­cial terms of the transaction.
