Variohm EuroSensor has expanded its range of industrial pressure switches with the new EPS03 series offering five model variants with diaphragm or piston actuation covering adjustable switching pressures from 0.5 to 350 bar and industry standard ambient temperatures from ‑25 °C to + 85 °C. The changeover pressure switch features a breaking capacity that ranges from non-inductive loads to AC loads up to 750 VA and DC loads to 150 VA.
Aimed at continuous pressure switch applications for air, water hydraulic oil and oil emulsions etc., EPS03 series pressure switches are assembled in durable galvanised steel housings with an IP65 rating. For application and price flexibility as well as maximum reliability, the pressure switches have silver plated contact micro switches or gold-plated contacts on request in addition to a choice of NBR or optional Viton diaphragm/seals throughout the range. Further flexibility includes a choice of port configurations covering G1/8, G1/4, M10x1 and M12x1.5. Electrical interfacing is via an integral PG9 connector with a cable gland.
For pressure ranges from 0.5 to 2 bar and 1 to 10 bar, a spring loaded membrane is used whilst for the higher pressure ranges of 10 to 70 bar, 50 to 200 bar and 150 to 350 bar, a spring-loaded steel piston performs the switching task. The EPS03 also features generous maximum and overpressure limits, a 106 switching life and a switching frequency of 200/min. The switch back differential is between 15% and 30% of the switching value. Other available options on request include a wider ambient temperature range and modification for use with other measuring mediums.
The new EPS03 pressure switches are part of a universal family of pressure switches from Variohm. The recently launched EPS01 and EPS02 cover low pressure diaphragm switching to 10 bar with brass and stainless steel housings as well as Viton or NBR seals — to match performance and budget for a wide range of applications.
