Innovative drive technology for the automation industry

On June 29 and 30, 2022, Nord Dri­vesys­tems will present the inno­v­a­tive Duo­Drive gear­mo­tor, the ener­gy-effi­cient IE5+ syn­chro­nous motor, the new Nor­dac on decen­tral­ized fre­quen­cy invert­er and the Nor­dac pro SK 500P con­trol cab­i­net invert­er, among oth­er prod­ucts, at all about automa­tion in the Ham­burg-Schnelsen exhi­bi­tion hall.

The com­pact and region­al trade fair event all about automa­tion Ham­burg net­works man­u­fac­tur­ers, dis­trib­u­tors and ser­vice providers for indus­tri­al automa­tion and com­mu­ni­ca­tion from the north­ern region. At all about automa­tion, the focus is on prac­ti­cal exchange on sys­tems, com­po­nents, soft­ware and engi­neer­ing for indus­tri­al automa­tion. Here the com­pa­ny has sev­er­al inno­va­tions to offer, for exam­ple the patent­ed Duo­Drive: the inno­v­a­tive gear motor inte­grates a high­ly effi­cient IE5+ syn­chro­nous motor into the hous­ing of a sin­gle-stage heli­cal gear unit and sets new stan­dards in terms of per­for­mance, instal­la­tion space and vari­ant reduction.

With opti­mized sys­tem effi­cien­cy, high pow­er den­si­ty, com­pact hous­ing dimen­sions and very low noise emis­sions, it is a real game chang­er. Since many wear parts are elim­i­nat­ed, main­te­nance require­ments are also reduced. Togeth­er with the sim­ple com­mis­sion­ing of the com­plete solu­tion via plug-and-play, this results in a sig­nif­i­cant reduc­tion in the total cost of own­er­ship (TCO) com­pared to pre­vi­ous dri­ve systems.

The IE5+ motor generation sets standards

Sig­nif­i­cant­ly low­er loss­es than the IE4 series: The ener­gy-effi­cient IE5+ per­ma­nent mag­net syn­chro­nous motors achieve their high effi­cien­cy, which in some cas­es is well above effi­cien­cy class IE5, over a wide torque range and are there­fore ide­al­ly suit­ed for eco­nom­i­cal oper­a­tion in the par­tial load range. The new IE5+ motors are just as inter­est­ing for intral­o­gis­tics as they are for the hygiene-sen­si­tive areas of the food or phar­ma­ceu­ti­cal indus­tries. The new motor is avail­able in vent­ed or smooth ver­sions up to an out­put of 4.0 kW. The IE5+ syn­chro­nous motors can be com­bined mod­u­lar­ly with all gear­box­es and dri­ve elec­tron­ics from Nord Dri­vesys­tems. On request, they are avail­able with a very smooth sur­face and the sur­face fin­ish nsd tupH.

Smart frequency inverter for IIoT applications

Also new is the decen­tral­ized fre­quen­cy invert­er. It fea­tures an inte­grat­ed Eth­er­net inter­face, full plug­ga­bil­i­ty and an extreme­ly com­pact design, offer­ing an eco­nom­i­cal plug-and-play solu­tion for IIoT envi­ron­ments. The fre­quen­cy invert­er can be mount­ed direct­ly on the dri­ve hous­ing and cov­ers small­er pow­er ranges up to 1.0 kW. While the NORDAC ON was designed for oper­a­tion with asyn­chro­nous motors, the invert­er is intend­ed for com­bi­na­tion with syn­chro­nous motors and com­ple­ments the high-effi­cien­cy port­fo­lio around the new IE5+ motor generation.

Optimum performance in the control cabinet

The fre­quen­cy invert­ers of the Nor­dac Pro SK 500P series have an inte­grat­ed mul­ti-pro­to­col Eth­er­net inter­face, a mul­ti-encoder inter­face for mul­ti-axis oper­a­tion and a USB inter­face for volt­age-free para­me­ter­i­za­tion. Char­ac­ter­is­tic is the stan­dard vari­ety of inter­faces and func­tions: Dif­fer­ent device vari­ants can be opti­mal­ly assigned to the most diverse appli­ca­tion require­ments. Plug­gable oper­at­ing, safe­ty and option mod­ules ensure max­i­mum flex­i­bil­i­ty and the com­pact design in book­size for­mat enables space-sav­ing instal­la­tion in the con­trol cab­i­net. Per­fect for every dri­ve task.
