Innovative floating photovoltaic solution

The Water Lily float­ing pho­to­volta­ic solu­tion from SINN Pow­ers was sym­bol­i­cal­ly launched at the prod­uct launch in Gaut­ing near the com­pa­ny’s head­quar­ters. The com­pa­ny devel­oped its lat­est prod­uct based on years of expe­ri­ence with float­ing hybrid pow­er plants in mar­itime envi­ron­ments and brought it from the sea to calmer, still waters. The solu­tion is an eco­nom­i­cal and sus­tain­able prod­uct devel­oped from cor­ro­sion-resis­tant and almost ful­ly recy­clable materials.

Build­ing on its expe­ri­ence in devel­op­ing the Ocean Hybrid Plat­form, the Group presents a float­ing PV solu­tion for pow­er gen­er­a­tion on calm stand­ing waters. The prod­uct launch took place in Gaut­ing, near the com­pa­ny’s head­quar­ters in the Munich area. The pho­to­volta­ic solu­tion, in com­bi­na­tion with SINN Pow­er’s IP68-cer­ti­fied Mod­Tron­iX pow­er elec­tron­ics, rep­re­sents an extreme­ly eco­nom­i­cal turnkey solution.

Advantages of the new floating photovoltaic platform for fresh and brackish water:

• All com­po­nents have an opti­mal pack­ing size and can be seg­ment­ed for trans­port. This min­i­mized vol­ume of parts results in low­er trans­porta­tion costs, stor­age space sav­ings, and eas­i­er on-site installation.
• The float­ing plat­form com­po­nents are made of spe­cial alu­minum alloys and are cor­ro­sion resistant.
• As SINN Pow­er comes from the devel­op­ment of off­shore solu­tions, the Water Lily is opti­mized in terms of robust­ness, sta­bil­i­ty and durability.
• These sys­tems are a new for­ward-look­ing solu­tion for renew­able ener­gy generation.
• Appli­ca­tion areas for so-called “Floa­to­volta­ic” are stag­nant waters such as dams and canals, aqua­cul­ture farms, open pit lakes, indus­tri­al waste water reser­voirs and dams.
• The appli­ca­tion pos­si­bil­i­ties are man­i­fold and will make an impor­tant con­tri­bu­tion to the desired ener­gy turn­around in the com­ing years.
