KMS Vertrieb and Services AG is acquired by CompuGroup Medical (CGM)

Com­pu­Group Med­ical SE & Co. KGaA (CGM), one of the world’s lead­ing e‑health com­pa­nies, is acquir­ing KMS Ver­trieb und Ser­vices AG (KMS), one of the lead­ing providers of data ware­house solu­tions in the health­care sec­tor in Germany.

Found­ed in 1996 and head­quar­tered in Unter­haching, Ger­many, KMS has estab­lished itself as the mar­ket leader for data ware­house solu­tions in the health­care sec­tor in Ger­many with more than 450 projects. The com­pa­ny’s main prod­ucts are eis­TIK® and EYE ON HEALTH®.

The par­tic­u­lar strength of the eis­TIK® data ware­house sys­tem lies in the explo­rative analy­sis, depth of detail and con­sis­ten­cy of the data gen­er­at­ed from var­i­ous upstream sys­tems. A high­ly spe­cial­ized team of con­sul­tants with many years of indus­try expe­ri­ence makes an impor­tant con­tri­bu­tion to turn­ing data into answers.

With its main prod­uct, the com­pa­ny also offers its cus­tomers the option of a region­al bench­mark or tar­get­ed geo­mar­ket­ing. For this pur­pose, data from a wide vari­ety of sources is deter­mined and made avail­able on a dai­ly basis in a cen­tral knowl­edge plat­form, e.g. region­al com­par­a­tive analy­ses of case num­bers, catch­ment areas for deter­min­ing patient poten­tial, etc. The link­ing of com­pa­ny key fig­ures with socio-demo­graph­ic infor­ma­tion allows the tar­get­ed def­i­n­i­tion of strate­gic com­pa­ny goals.

CGM will mar­ket the KMS solu­tions inde­pen­dent­ly as well as inte­grate them into its port­fo­lio. By com­bin­ing eis­TIK® with CGM soft­ware, admin­is­tra­tive hos­pi­tal data will be enriched with med­ical data from the treat­ment con­text. The result is an infor­ma­tion and man­age­ment tool that gives high­ly spe­cial­ized hos­pi­tals and health­care groups alike an all-round view of their hos­pi­tal operations.
