On the Fortune List for the fifth time

The com­pa­ny in the dig­i­tal trans­for­ma­tion of ener­gy man­age­ment and automa­tion Schnei­der Elec­tric, has secured a place on For­tune mag­a­zine’s “World’s Most Admired Com­pa­nies List” for the fifth year in a row. Schnei­der Elec­tric even made it to the podi­um in the elec­tron­ics indus­try rank­ing: The tech com­pa­ny’s high lev­el of com­mit­ment to enabling greater sus­tain­abil­i­ty with the help of elec­tri­fi­ca­tion and dig­i­tal­iza­tion is demon­strat­ed by its third place rank­ing. Schnei­der Elec­tric was par­tic­u­lar­ly con­vinc­ing in the cat­e­gories of inno­va­tion, prod­uct qual­i­ty and service.

Recent acco­lades earned by the tech com­pa­ny include ini­tia­tives such as the Schnei­der Sus­tain­abil­i­ty Impact (SSI), launched in 2005, which com­mits the com­pa­ny to its ambi­tious sus­tain­abil­i­ty efforts over the long term and declares 11 spe­cif­ic goals by 2025. In addi­tion, Schnei­der Elec­tric has once again sig­nif­i­cant­ly expand­ed its Ener­gy & Sus­tain­abil­i­ty Ser­vices (ESS) and, not least, sup­ports its sup­pli­ers in their efforts to halve their CO2 con­sump­tion by 2025.

For­tune’s annu­al rank­ing of the “World’s Most Admired Com­pa­nies” is based on a sur­vey of the glob­al For­tune 500 com­pa­nies with the largest sales in their respec­tive indus­tries. To deter­mine the top per­form­ers in 52 indus­tries, 3,820 CEOs, direc­tors and ana­lysts are asked to rate the com­pa­nies on nine cri­te­ria.  These include invest­ment val­ue, the qual­i­ty of man­age­ment and prod­ucts, social respon­si­bil­i­ty and the abil­i­ty to recruit new talent.

Multiple awards for sustainability

The des­ig­na­tion as one of the world’s most respect­ed com­pa­nies fol­lows a series of out­stand­ing results in sus­tain­abil­i­ty rank­ings: For exam­ple, win­ning the Ger­man Sus­tain­abil­i­ty Award, being named to Cor­po­rate Knights’ Glob­al 100 list of the world’s most sus­tain­able com­pa­nies for the eleventh year in a row, and again being includ­ed in the Cli­mate Change A‑list of the Car­bon Dis­clo­sure Project (CDP) or the Dow Jones Sus­tain­abil­i­ty World Index.
