In the context of the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) 2021, Merck presentedt its latest technology advancements for the electronics industry. For the first time, the world’s largest electronic tradeshow took place virtually as an all-digital event from January 11–14, 2021. As the company behind the companies advancing digital living, Merck develops and manufactures leading-edge display and semiconductor materials used in almost every modern electronic device in the world.

In many technologies that will accompany our digital life in the future, further innovations are only possible through materials research enabling the development of increasingly powerful computer chips or even new computing architectures, which are needed to bring artificial intelligence and machine learning to the next level. Another example are neuromporphic systems, which are modeled on the human brain. With its leading-edge solutions, the company facilitates these developments. The integration of Intermolecular and its special processes and R&D capabilities allows Merck to considerably increase the speed in developing game-changing innovations in the electronics material space.
