Water conditioning is a significant cost driver in many sectors. An efficient process water system should therefore use only as much treated water as absolutely necessary. To this end, Bürkert Fluid Control Systems has developed a modular water blending solution with blending controllers that regulate the blending process very precisely. This solution is suitable for basically all applications that demand a constant high quality of water, e.g. pharmaceutical, food and beverage industries. The water blending unit is also ideal for use in industrial processes, such as the manufacturing industry, energy production and for HVAC applications (Heating, Ventilation and Air Conditioning). The blending unit, featuring two inlets for untreated and treated water and one outlet for blended water, can be simply integrated on site into the existing water supply or the water treatment plant. It comes fully wired, connection of the mains adapter is all it takes for start-up. The system is then fully operable, since the values for target quality and correct quantity ratio are factory set for the relevant application.
Ideal blending solution for every requirement
The controllers operate with the appropriate blending principles according to the quality of the untreated water – constant or variable. If the quality of the untreated water is constant, the blending controller operates as a ‘ratio control’ and ensures a constant mixing ratio. Conversely, if the quality of the untreated water is variable, the mixing ratio can be adjusted (quality control) in line with a measured target value (hardness, conductivity). Further, the controller features analogue and digital interfaces for process communication.
